WARNING – AERIAL INSECTICIDE SPRAYING
Aerial spraying is being done in all three states vs.
mosquitoes, spurred by concerns about the EEE virus. Only a few people are reported dying, but conventional health
officials are far more concerned about bugs/germs than they are about pesticide
hazards. Suggestions for your response:
**Check your state DEM site for a map of where
spraying is occurring
** Contact them to find out which insecticide is
being used. So far, info indicates use
of are Anvil 10 +10 (A pyrethrin – bad) or BT (Not so bad)
**If You Can, Remove Yourself From the Area for 24
Hours or More.
**Otherwise, Try to make your home as closed to spray
as possible
**From A Fleeing Canary (Person who has been
previously been sickened by pesticides and has left her home to avoid the
spraying): Remind folks to turn off air
conditioners on the nights they spray. Especially if it's a truck spray, the AC can suck the spray into the
house.

Use of glyphosate will be banned in
Germany from the end of 2023, after a phased effort to reduce its application
by farmers. The ban, agreed by the Cabinet on
Wednesday, is part of an insect conservation program from Environment Minister
Svenja Schulze.
It
includes a "systematic reduction strategy," which would initially
prohibit use of the chemical in domestic gardens and allotments, and on the
edge of farmers' fields. Germany's move comes after
lawmakers in Austria passed a bill banning all use of the weedkiller, making the country the
first to do so. Some 20 French mayors banned it from their municipalities last
month — in defiance of their national government.

adopted a revision to the Chemicals of High Concern in Children’s Products Rule
which require manufacturers who use chemicals designated as Chemicals of High
Concern to Children (CHCC) to disclose information about these chemicals to the
Health Department. The rule has also incorporated the amendments into a signed
Bill (S.55) in June 2019. The new provisions became effective on August 15,

According to a study conducted over a 6
year period at the Foster Hospital for Small Animals at Tufts University’s
Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, exposure to lawn pesticides,
specifically those applied by professional lawn care companies, raised
the risk of canine malignant lymphoma (CML) by as much as 70%.
Another study performed at the
Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Purdue University concluded
certain garden and lawn chemicals are linked to canine bladder cancer,
including common herbicides containing 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D),
4-chloro-2-methylphenoxypropionic acid (MCPP) and/or dicamba.
