**SOMETIMES THE SAME NEWS IS A BLESSING: Here comes the Judge! It is clear that lawsuits have been doing more to protect us from toxics than other branches of government. (Especially bad are the agencies headed by former corporate lobbyists, lawyers, etc.): RoundUp/Glyphosate has been clobbered by an ongoing mob of thousands of lawsuits. And in this TIP TALKS we can celebrate two more toxic threats being pushed back. – Dicamba pesticide & the bunch of toxic cosmetics.
**BOTH CAUSE & CARE RE: COVID-19 CAN BE CONFUSING: My own take is that there are usually multiple factors that result in human illness. In the case, of Covid-19, a lab virus, Chinese city pollution & 5G invasion, all could have a part in the start.
BUT SEEKING IMMUNITY CAN HELP, There are a bunch of natural supplements and vitamins that can help your body to protect itself from viral assault. In today’s TIP TALKS you can learn from a former pharmacist friend of ours about the great benefits of Vitamin D vs. Covid. **SOME THINGS DON”T CHANGE: SUMMER IS COMING; Isn’t it nice that our Clever Consumer section is even getting word from the New York Times about changing away from pesticides on our lawns? And, reliable and savvy EWG is back with this year’s safer sunscreen info – for adults and kids.
**BOTTOM LINE: I hope that this TIP TALKS may be one useful aid to dealing with the many health and environmental concerns with which we cope here on planet Earth.

CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY APPROVED THE TOXIC-FREE
COSMETICS ACT — HERE'S WHY THAT'S IMPORTANT

June, 2020 by Jessica Harrington On June 11, the California Assembly voted on a new legislation that would help regulate the use of highly toxic chemicals in personal care products. The Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act, A.B. 2762, bans 12 toxic ingredients commonly used in makeup products, including formaldehyde and mercury, and was passed with a bipartisan vote of 54-0. If enacted, California would become the first state in the country with a ban like this in place and join the likes of the European Union, where these chemicals have already been banned from beauty products.
In the next steps, the bill will go to the state Senate where it will be voted on once more,
some time this summer before August. "I want my daughter growing up in a state where
I don't have to examine the label, and be an expert toxicologist, to know the soaps, face creams and toothpastes that are safe for her to use," said the lead author of the legislation, Assembly member Al Muratsuchi. "That's why I introduced AB 2762 to get the most toxic chemicals out of the products we use on a daily basis." Despite many of the ingredients listed in the Toxic-Free Cosmetic Act being linked to breast cancer, they're still used in products that are sold all over the US. If passed by the California Senate, this will mean big changes for makeup products sold in the state and the beauty industry as a whole.

The 56-page opinion held the Trump administration’s 2018 registration of that pesticide and related ones to be unlawful, and disallowed it. Over 25 million pounds of the dicamba was set to be sprayed again this summer using the now-unlawful pesticides. “Today’s decision is a massive win for farmers and the environment,” said George Kimbrell of the Center for Food Safety, lead counsel in the case. “It is good to be reminded that corporations like Monsanto and the Trump Administration cannot escape the rule of law, particularly at a time of crisis like this. Their day of reckoning has arrived.
