**TWO FILMS THAT HAVE GREAT POWER TO EDUCATE
Tomorrow (Thursday) “The Devil We Know” will be offered to
those near Providence. You can inform you friends, family,
co-workers by inviting them to attend this – or by scheduling
a showing elsewhere.
So many people are woefully unaware of the toxic threats
around us – or how to protect against them and replace with
healthier options. Films like these are a great way to bring
this info to more folks.
Coming soon will be several showings of the film,
“Generation Zapped”, about the concerns around EMFs
(Electromagnetic Fields) – including Wi-Fi, Cell Phones
and “Smart” Meters. I had hoped to share the date and
time for the first showing of “Zapped”, but have not been
able to verify that information. It will go up on the
TIP home page when available.
** NEW GROUP FORMING RE: EMFS: Here is RI a growing
number of folks are coming together to form a new group,
to be titled “Safe (or “Safer”) Technology”. They will be
dealing with the kinds of concerns addressed by the
“Zapped” film mentioned above. Consider joining us –
or at least looking into what’s happening. If you don’t live
in RI, consider starting or finding a group of your own.
**EMPHASIZING GOOD NEWS IN TIP TALKS: I have recently
been finding much evidence of progress in our struggles to
reduce toxic exposures and promote healthy choices.
And, I feel that focusing on the positive is empowering
as we work for further effective actions.
So, in this issue you’ll find much to cheer your day!
Blessings, Liberty G

HOW BIG WIRELESS CONVINCED US CELL PHONES AND WI-FI
ARE SAFE\ - THE TOP 25 CENSORED STORIES OF 2017-2018
Project Censored makes an annual list of the most important
unreported, underreported and or misreported stories of the year.
For 2018, the hazards of cell phones and wireless radio frequency
radiation was number 4 on their list. While their story below focuses
on cancer, wireless exposure also affects the reproductive,
neurological, cardiovascular, endocrine and other biological
systems in harmful yet non-carcinogenic ways. Everyday
impairments can include headache, insomnia, tinnitus,
loss of cognitive abilities, dizziness, memory loss, arrhythmia,
pressure in head, and burning skin to name some of the more
common. Enough to spoil your day, your relationship and
your ability to survive in the workplace. And that was without
the current rush to unleash powerful high frequency
fifth generation [5G] wireless un the unsuspecting public.
ANTIBIOTIC USE IN FARM ANIMALS DROPS RADICALLY
FIRST YEAR AFTER REGULATION (Excerpts)
· By Christopher Stephens CNHI News Indiana • Frankton, Jan 13, 2019 \
www.tribstar.com/news/indiana_news/antibiotic-use-in-farm-animals-drops-radically-first-year-after/article_5e5e7e69-6e30-556a-b664-aa665ab6c8ea.html
The FDA is cheering a recent study that showed antibiotic use in animals
declined by 33 percent between 2016 and 2017 because the findings
indicate human consumers of animal products are less likely to be
exposed to antibiotic-resistant super bugs. According to the annual
“Antimicrobials Sold or Distributed for Use in Food-Producing Animals”
report, antibiotic use fell drastically in the first year of Barack Obama-era
rules seeking to restrict the unnecessary use of the drugs.
FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said in a statement accompanying
the report that the decline suggested efforts by the agency to reduce
improper use of the drugs were paying off. “While it’s impossible to
completely outrace antimicrobial resistance, we can take important
steps now to slow its pace and reduce its impact on both human and
animal health,” Gottlieb said.
In the United States, at least 2 million people become infected with
bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics and at least 23,000 people die
annually as a direct result of these infections, according to the Center
for Disease Control and Prevention. While it’s unfeasible to expect
antibiotic use to drop to zero, Gottlieb released a plan last year to curb
two of the most dangerous uses of antibiotics: blanket prevention and
micro-doses used not to prevent disease but to cause animals to gain
weight faster. And the report indicates just how effective regulation
can be in just one year. Sales of “medically important” antibiotics,
which are identical to those used in humans, and therefore most likely
to harm people, fell by 33 percent. More drastically, sales of antibiotics
specifically for growth promotion dropped from 12.7 million pounds
to zero, according to the report.
And along with regulatory efforts, decisions by some of the largest
customers of American beef, dairy and poultry announced plans in
December to take reduction into their own hands. Costco Wholesale
announced a plan to restrict antibiotic use purely to therapeutic use,
meaning only once an animal is sick and not as a preventative or growth
promoter, by 2020. McDonald’s also announced a program to reduce
antibiotic use in beef purchased for the company. And on the same day
the FDA report was released, a group of food producers and consumer
companies signed on to a 15-point antibiotic stewardship program
organized by the Pew Charitable Trust seeking to drastically reduce
non-therapeutic uses.
Companies signing onto the agreement included some of the country’s
largest purchasers and producers including: Hormel Foods, McDonald’s
Corp., National Milk Producers Federation, National Pork Board, National
Pork Producers Council, National Turkey Federation, Smithfield Foods Inc.,
Tyson Foods and Walmart Inc.
And while the agreement is only a loose framework currently, Talkington
added she expects talks will continue to keep consumers safe from deadly
diseases. “We look forward to continuing to work together to align these
stewardship best practices with existing quality and sustainability programs
throughout animal production,” Talkington said.

CLEVER CONSUMER GMO NEWS & EWG SURVEY
Independent studies link glyphosate to cancer, yet the Environmental
Protection Agency STILL maintains that glyphosate is safe. Now we
know why. A new report exposes how the EPA ignored independent
studies linking glyphosate to cancer in humans, instead choosing
to rely on studies funded by Monsanto to support its position that
glyphosate is not carcinogenic.
This is INSANE. The EPA relied on Monsanto’s own studies to determine
whether glyphosate is safe. That’s like letting the fox guard the henhouse.
In contrast, the World Health Organization classified glyphosate as probably
carcinogenic to humans in 2015 based on peer-reviewed studies – i.e., studies
reviewed by EXPERTS. California followed suit, in 2017, adding glyphosate
to the state’s list of chemicals known to cause cancer. Monsanto has been
trying to cover up glyphosate’s carcinogenic risks for years, even going so
far as to attack EWG by calling our research “propaganda.” We’re not going
to stop exposing their dirty tactics, but we need your help. Please take EWG’s
quick survey on glyphosate to help us fight back against Monsanto.
