I. What.
When I acquired the 300 year old Browning farm house, empty for 2 years, in 1980 it had 2 buildings on 1.407 acres of mostly mowed grass. Since then I have systematically replaced lawn with over 100 trees planted mostly from seedlings, over 60 sculptures, and volunteer wild flowers and plants. The only grass is on paths leading to sculptures cut with a human powered push mower. Raised bed gardens have no fertilizers or pesticides except compost and some cow manure. Rainwater is collected in sculpture oil drum cisterns and distributed by hose to gardens. I am not a professional photographer and my slides don’t do justice to the NO toxic landscape I have with nature by my side created. I hope instead you and the jurors will visit me. This should be done for all design entries.
