**OCTOBER EMF NOTES: The rollout of 5G is a planetary emergency. Commercial 5G networks are already in place in parts of Estonia, Finland and Qatar, & trials of 5G are underway in China & South Africa. 5G is radically different from previous generations of wireless technology:
* Instead of being on private property relatively far from where people live and work, 5G antennas will be on
the sidewalk in front of every third or fifth house.
• Instead of emitting hundreds of watts of microwave radiation, each 5G antenna on the sidewalk will emit
beams with an effective power as high as tens of
thousands of watts of millimeter wave radiation.
• Instead of nature being protected, 20,000 5G satellites
in low orbit will irradiate every square inch of the Earth.

**OCTOBER PESTICIDE NOTES: TIP’s initial concern was about pesticides. Unfortunately, their use continues and is widespread. However, more and more awareness of their toxicity and more and more pushback is occurring. The recent millions of dollars judgment vs. Monsanto re: a groundkeeper’s Roundup-caused cancer is a highly encouraging happening – and there are tens of thousands more similar lawsuits in process. Meanwhile, we need to keep up pressure on the EPA to actually do its job. Today’s TIP TALKS offers a link to call for the banning of Atrozine, another hazardous chemical.
FINAL COMMENTS: What’s “Mixed Bag” News – Well, for example, the fracking waste problem in Ohio is Bad – but the strong action growing there against it is heartening! (We are seeing more & more awareness and fight-back vs. the toxic threats addressed by TIP. “Truth Shall Out!”.

NATURAL GAS PIPELINE MORATORIUM

REHOBOTH — Selectmen have approved an immediate moratorium on the installation of natural gas pipelines for an undetermined period. The decision was made in response to a series of explosions that rocked the Merrimack Valley towns of Lawrence, North Andover and Andover in September. Excessive pressure in the pipelines owned by Columbia Gas caused explosions and fires in as many as 40 homes, with over 80 individual fires. One person was killed and 30,000 were forced to evacuate.

MANY PROFESSIONAL TEAMS ARE RIPPING UP SYNTHETIC TURF FIELDS AND REPLACING THEM WITH GRASS

1. Athletes prefer real grass. The women's world soccer organization sued over being made to play on synthetic turf fields when the men played on real grass.
2. More than half of the professional football teams are now using real grass. Many of those are using Tifway Bermuda Grass. They tried synthetic turf fields and have now pulled them up for grass.
3. Of the 32 professional football teams, 56% play on natural grass. They are: Kansas City Chiefs, Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins ,Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Oakland Raiders .
4. The trend in baseball is also back toward natural grass. Only two pro baseball fields remain that use artificial turf.
5. Maintenance costs are equivalent, and some studies even suggest that natural grass is cheaper, especially when long term replacement costs are considered.
6. Injuries are more common on artificial turf.
7. And lastly - and most importantly - there are 10 carcinogens in the crumb rubber infill - and schools, towns and colleges should not be exposing their students to such a dangerous surface.

Much of the wastewater from Pennsylvania’s fracking industry is trucked across the border to Ohio. Last year, Pennsylvania and West Virginia contributed nearly half of the more than a billion gallons of frack waste that were injected into underground wells in Ohio. Residents in at least one county say they’ve had enough. (Read the story to learn more about the problems and actions being proposed and taken vs. the problems from the fracking monster!)

As we see countries throughout the world try to roll out 5G, John who has a telecommunications background talks about the serious risks involved in 5G, not to mention the utter impracticality. With the level of wattage coming from 5G towers, it will dramatically increase radiation to neighborhoods as it would be necessary to put towers every 3 or 4 houses to ensure efficiency. It would make no sense to commit to and it would be dramatically unhealthy. Electro-magnetic frequencies can be quite dangerous. Millions of Americans are at risk of drinking atrazine,
a toxic pesticide that can turn male frogs into female
frogs with viable eggs! More than 70 million pounds
of this pesticide are dumped on American farmland
each year. Atrazine has been linked to serious health
effects like hormone disruption, shorter pregnancy
and even cancer. The Environmental Protection Agency
is about to give Big Ag the green light to keep spraying

There is no denying that plastic pollution in our oceans and environment is an enormous societal challenge. Globally, plastic production has increased by more than tenfold since 1970, faster than the growth rate of any other group of bulk materials (IEA). Faced with this massive presence in our environment, CHE wanted to answer this question: What are the effects of plastic on human health?
They researched the issues, from production to end-of-life, and brought together a diverse group of scientists, health professionals, policy experts, and advocates to answer this question. They are excited to bring you a four-part webinar series, which will present the latest research on the key ways plastic affects public health. As petrochemicals are rapidly becoming the largest driver of global oil consumption, they want to explicitly explore the links between petrochemicals, climate change,
and human health. They will begin with the hazardous effects of plastic production, then investigate harmful chemicals in plastic food packaging, probe the emerging science on the impacts of microplastics, and consider the advantages and disadvantages of bio-based plastics.
